In pd 2, we went over all of the hw problems...Students who were called on had to read each question in correct geometric form! In pd 4, we also learned how to construct the midpoint of a segment using a compass and straightedge.
HW page 30 # 5-12 all + Work on your Daisy Design projects!!!!! Projects are due on Wednesday.
EC problem....A math teacher drive past a farmyard full of chickens and pigs. The teacher noticed that there were a total of 30 heads and 100 legs. How many pigs were there? Show how you figured out your answer....
Algebra 2A pd 5---BRING YOUR BOOKS TO CLASS ON MONDAY!!!!!!
We went over how to write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to another line. We start with point-slope form, and end up with slope-intercept form.... The slopes of perpendicular lines are opposite reciprocals of each other. If the slope of one line = 2, the slope of the other
line = -1/2.
HW Worksheet 1.3 # 23,24,25,27, and 30.
EC problem.....# 32---If done, please copy the problem and then answer it...Show all steps!!!!
After I collected the puzzle worksheet from yesterday, we went over the word problem on page 4 of the textbook. We then graphed our solution on the graphing calculator... We found an equation to fit the data in our table.
HW page 8 # 4,5,6 page 9 #47,49.

Periods 1,2, and 4 were posted earlier today....
Pd 5 Algebra 2A
Today, everyone received the Algebra Two Textbook...You need to bring it to class tomorrow....
HW Finish the worksheet you were working on during class today...the other side is for extra credit!
EC problem Write the equation in standard form for the line containing (6, -3) with slope 1/3.

Algebra 2H pd 1
After going over the hw, students worked on a puzzle worksheet involving equations for parallel and perpendicular line. I checked students' notebook while the classwork was going on. Some of you need to show me your dividers by tomorrow. Also, TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculators are due tomorrow. If you will have them by Monday, you must bring me a note from your parents.
HW Finish the cw worksheet if not completed.
EC the other side of the worksheet is ec....
Geometry H pds 2,4
After discussing the Daisy DEsign project, we finished lesson 1.3 on distances, segment addition postulate, midpoint, and bisector of a segment.
HW page 15 # 5-26 all
EC problem.....Draw 2 segments AB and CD so that Segment AB bisects segment CD, but Segment CD does not bisect segment AB.

Algebra 2H pd 1
After answering the hw problems, we learned that parallel lines have the same slope, but different y-intercepts. We also learned that perpendicular lines have slopes that are opposite reciprocals of each other.
HW Worksheet 1.3 # 14-32 evens
EC problem.....Write the equation of the line perpendicular to -3x - 4y = 10 and having the same y-intercept as x + 3y = -5. If done correctly, I will count this ec double!
Geometry H pds 2,4
After going over the hw, we learned how to make daisy designs with our compasses. You are to create an original daisy design on a blank sheet of paper for next Wednesday....This project will count 20 points, and will be graded for being original, colorful, and containing at least 1 daisy design.
No hw tonight.....
EC problem.....Tell why you can draw a regular hexagon with your straightedge after making a daisy design.
Algebra 2A pd 5
After going over hw problems, we learned that parallel lines have the same slope but different y-intercepts. We then went over several problems involving writing equations of lines that are parallel to other lines.
HW worksheet 1.3 # 14,16,18, 19, 20, 21.
EC problem....Write an equation of a line parallel to -5x + y = 2 containing the point (-6,-1). If done, you must hand it to me before class starts tomorrow!
