We went over the word problems involving linear equations (page 5) today.
HW Review for quiz on Wednesday.....page 77 # 1-12 all + Bring your books!!!!

EC problem......Find the equation of the line perpendicular to 12x + 4y = 8 which contains the point (3,-1)....For another point find the equation of the line parallel to 12x + 4y = 8 with the point (3,-1).

Both classes should now know how to find the midpoint of a line segment by construction (using a compass and straightedge). We also went over problems # 33-40 on page 16.

EC problem......Draw segment AB with midpoint M. If AM = 3x+6 and AB = 72, find x, MB, and AM.

We started reviewing for our first quiz which will be on Wednesday. We went over page 77 # 1-11 during class. Similar problems will be on your first quiz.
HW Review----page 72 # 1,2,3 and page 73 # 7,9,11,12,14, and 18.
EC problem.....Explain in your own words why y= mx + b is a very useful formula to know when graphing linear equations. Give an example as well.
