After going over quiz problems and hw questions, we started lesson 4.2. This lesson is on how to find triangles congruent by using only 3 corresponding parts from each triangle. These methods are: SSS, SAS, and ASA. Check your notes and worksheet to learn what these abbreviations really mean!
HW Worksheet # 1-9 ALL
EC Draw two right triangles with sides 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm. Are these triangles congruent? Measure the angles. Are the corresponding angles congruent?
Algebra 2A pd 5
We reviewed the process of completing the square to solve quadratic equations. We finished the puzzle worksheet in class. The calculator was used to call on students in a random way.
HW Worksheet-Finish # 7-16 all. These are done the same way as they were done in class.

Algebra 2H pd 1
Using the graphing calculator, we saw the relationship between the vertex, width, and direction of the parabolas for the equation y= a(x-h)^2 + k. Hopefully, you were able to follow it all.
We reviewed the steps for completing the square in order to get the vertex form for graphing parabolas.
HW Worksheet--Front side Finish # 9,10.
Back side # 10-15 all
EC problem.....Find the vertex, line of symmetry equation, and direction of opening for the quadratic equation y= 3/4 x^2 -12x +9.
Geometry H pds 2,4
We started Chapter 4 today. It is called Congruent Triangles. Today, we went over the fact that congruent figures have the same size and same shape. Corresponding parts of congruent figures have to matched up exactly.
HW page page 120 # 1-14 all, and # 18
EC problem.....Find examples of congruent figures on the Internet. Bring to class tomorrow.
Algebra 2A pd 5
We reviewed some factoring problems, and then learned how to solve quadratic equations by completing the square method. This works when problems will not factor.
