HW Worksheet # 1-12 all
We went over a new formula for depreciation of equipment. You are responsible for understand how to use the growth and decay formula, continuous interest and compound interest formulas, and the new one gone over today.
HW Worksheet # 1-13 odds
EC problem.....If a house in Los Angeles appreciates in value by 15% per year, how long will it take a house costing $150,000 to be worth $250,000?
Geometry H pds 2,4
Finish the worksheet on special right triangles for tomorrow...pd 2 will meet for about 15 minutes tomorrow. LEARN THE FORMULAS!!!!
Quiz on Lessons 8.3 and 8.4 will be on Tuesday..
Have fun at USC tomorrow!
EC problem....If the longer leg of a 30-60-90 right triangle is 21 radical 6, find the perimeter of the triangle.

Week Five
Algebra 2H pd 1
We learned how to use the ln (natural logarithm) key in solving word problems involving growth and decay. Since ln e = 1, this makes the equations much easier to solve on the calculator.
HW Worksheet # 1,2,4,5
EC problem.....Find the decay constant of a radioactive isotope if a 20 gram sample remains from a starting 98 gram amount after 2 years.
Geometry H pds 2,4
We started one of the most important geometry lessons for this semester-learning how to figure out the missing sides of 45-45- 90 and 30-60-90 right triangles. ALL of you must learn the formulas!!!!
HW page 302 # 2-26 evens.
EC problem....Using the formulas from today's lesson, find the perimeter of a square if its diagonal is 68 cm.
Algebra 2B pd 5
Today's worksheet on solving log equations will be collected and graded like a quiz.
Hope all of you do a great job on it!

Week Five
Algebra 2H pd 1
We learned more the irrational number e today. We graphed y=e^x in our notes and graphing calculators. We also learned the formula for compounding interest continuously. A=Pe^rt.
HW Worksheet # 1-9 all and #13-19 all
EC Problem...How much more money would you make if you deposited $5000 at 5% interest compounded continuously for 10 years vs $5000 at 5% interest compounded monthly for 10 years? Use A=P(1+r/n)^nt for the monthly calculation.
Geometry H pds 2,4
We went over the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem today. This states that if c^2 = a^2 + b^2, then the triangle is a right triangle. We also learned how to tell if a triangle can be formed, and how to tell if the triangle is acute or obtuse.
HW Worksheet # 1-16 all
EC problem....Write 10 Pythagorean Triples that were NOT given in today's notes. Try to use the shortcut method I told you about in class.
Algebra 2B pd 5
We went over ALL log and exponential equations during class. Hopefully, everyone knows how to solve them!
HW 3 problems:
1) 5x^3/7 = 120
2) 3^4x = 8^(x-3)
3) the cubed root of 3^2x+8 = 5^x
EC problems....Solve 2^(5x-1) = 3^(2x+1)
