Week Eight

Algebra 2H pd 1
After going over hw questions about the circle equation, we started learning about the ellipse.
It is formed by a constant sum of distances from two fixed points called the foci.
Today, we went over the ellipse that has a major horizontal axis.
The equation for an ellipse with center at (0,0) is: x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 =1
HW Worksheet # 1,2,10,11,12
EC problem.....#7 (the center is NOT at (0,0) in this problem)

Geometry H pds 2,4
Mandala Projects are due tomorrow!!!!!!

We learned how to find the measures of angles formed by two chords, two secants, two tangents, or a secant and tangent.
HW Worksheet # 1-19 all
EC problem Find the measure of an angle formed by two tangents if one of the intercepted arcs is 124ยบ.

Algebra 2B pd 5
We reviewed the material on circles. The key is to write each equation in standard form.
(x-h)^2 + (Y-k)^2 = r^2
HW Worksheet # 1-10 all
