After going over the hw on equations, we also went over the 3 word problems on the hw paper. We will return to word problems in the future in more detail.
Today's lesson was on Solving Absolute Value Equations. If the absolute value = a positive answer, there are two equations to set up. If the absolute value= a negative answer, there is NO SOLUTION, and no work to show!
HW Worksheet # 1-15 ALL- Show all work!!!
EC problem--The width of a rectangle is 12 cm less than twice its length. If the perimeter of the rectangle = 102 cm, find the length and width of the rectangle.

Today, we used our compass and straightedge to construct a segment = to another segment, and to construct a segment bisector (divides the segment into 2 equal parts). WE also constructed a Daisy Design.

EC problem... Draw a segment on your paper of 12 cm. Call it segment QR. Construct the bisector of segment QR. Label the point of intersection M, and the segment bisector line JK.

We are finished with lesson 1.3. Everyone should have the 6 trigonometric functions memorized in terms of x,y, and r. The words coterminal angles, terminal side of an angle in standard position, and quadrant signs for the trig functions should be understood by now.
HW- Finish the practice test for Monday. We will review this on Monday, and your first quiz will be on Tuesday.
EC problem.....Draw 45º and -45º in standard position. Choose a point on the terminal side of each angle. Show that cos(-45º) = cos 45º.
