This is my last Hollywood High post. I have enjoyed helping some of you get those extra credit points throughout the year. I wish you success next year as well. It has been a pleasure to have been your teacher this year!

We also learned about natural logs (ln) which simply means that the base is e.
So, for logs, the base is 10, and for ln, the base is e.

All students must bring binders to class for a major grade-it's worth as much as any test-100 points!

We are still working on the technique of completing the square to find the vertex of a parabola. We also learned how to find the equation of a parabola when given any 3 points on the parabola (not the vertex).

We learned that quadratic equations graph into parabolas. Today, we learned that the formula for finding the vertex is x = -b/2a. Then, substitute this answer into the original equation to find y. We also learned about the axis of symmetry.
HW Finish the worksheet started in today's class (# 1-6 only).
EC problem- Graph the parabola for the equation y = 2x^2 -4x - 1. Show all work.

We learned two other methods to prove triangles similar. They are the SAS Similarity and SSS Similarity Theorems.

Today, we started the unit on Similar Polygons. To be similar, polygons need to have their corresponding angles congruent, and their corresponding sides in proportion. We will finish today's cw worksheet in class tomorrow.
