To all of my classes:

This is my last Hollywood High post. I have enjoyed helping some of you get those extra credit points throughout the year. I wish you success next year as well. It has been a pleasure to have been your teacher this year!

After going over the hw on probability problems, we began the review for the final exam. Topics covered today were radicals, exponents, and growth/decay problems.
HW Review Worksheet # 1-13 all
EC problem- From a group of 8 men and 10 women, a committee of 6 is to be formed. How many committees can be formed if the committee is to have 3 men and 3 women on it?

Geometry H pds 2,5
We started the review for the final exam. We went over many different types of problems from the review sheet.
HW Finish the problems on the back of last night's assignment.
EC- Find the TA of a rectangular solid with dimensions 12cm,8 cm, and 4 cm.

Pre Calculus pd 6
After going over the hw problems on matrices, the first final review sheet was given out.
CW/HW- Finish these problems by tomorrow.
EC question-The diagonals of a parallelogram are 12 cm and 20 cm , and intersect at a 40º angle. Find the length of the shorter side of the parallelogram. (Use the law of cosines).

We went over Operations with Matrices-addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
For multiplication, only matrices with certain dimensions
can be multiplied.

We learned about problems involving Combinations. Use the formulas for combinations when the order of the items involved does not matter.

We went over the constructed response problems from the district final exam.

We learned about circular permutations today. The formula for basic circular permutations is: n!/(n-1)!
If the objects are reflective, then divide by 2.

We finished the LAUSD Final Exam. Hopefully, the results will arrive soon.

We learned that linear permutations are arrangements of things in a special order.
We learned that 6! = 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1.
P(n,r) = n!/(n-r)!
Also, 0! = 1 We also went over permutations in which some of the letters repeat.

Today was the first day of the District Final Exam. We will finish taking the test tomorrow. It will probably only take half of tomorrow's class.
Hold all work on the Reflections Lesson until tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the quiz on limits. You should review all worksheets on limits and make sure you understand the practice quiz.

We started the lesson on Reflections today. Tomorrow is the LAUSD Final Test. It is given to all students in our district who are currently taking Geometry. The test will take 2 days to complete.

EC-Find examples of reflections on the Internet. Print out and bring in to class.

The next quiz will be on Friday. It will cover all lessons on Limits.
Today, we learned about one-sided limits.

Tomorrow is the quiz on Geometric Sequences and Series. Make sure you review the problem on the distance a ball travels (both upward and downward distances must be added), sigma notation for geometric series, geometric means, as well as the other review sheet problems.

We learned how to solve the distance a ball travels when dropped to the ground. There are 2 distances to calculate:the downward and the upward distances.

EC problem- Find the distance traveled by a ball dropped from a height of 50 feet that rebounds 3/5 of the distance from which it was dropped.

Most students performed very well on today's quiz (Segments of a Circle) Congratulations!
EC problem-Two chords intersect in a circle. The segments on one chord are 2 and 6. The other chord is 8 units. Find its segments.

We reviewed the concept of limits by algebraic methods. Students who went on the field trip should see me Monday morning for the missed work.
