EC problem # 66 on page 347. This problem is similar to the last one done during today's class.

Today, we used linguini (spaghetti) to show that the sum of the two shorter sides of a triangle must be greater than the 3rd side in order for a triangle to be formed.
We also went over the Triangle Exterior Angle Theorem.
HW Worksheet- Do ALL problems on this worksheet.
EC problem....Draw a triangle with sides of 3 cm and 6 cm. Tell what measurement the 3rd side must have in order to form a triangle.

After going over many of the hw problems, I collected the hw papers just to make sure you are actually correcting your papers!
We went over some word problems involving squares and factoring in the solution.
HW pd 1-Finish the word problem we set up in class. In addition, do the following problems: page 326 #25,33,36, and page 327 # 65,67, and 69.
Pd 2 Do the same hw problems listed above.
EC problem-page 327 # 72.

After reviewing the concept of the altitude of a triangle, we learned how to draw the medians of a triangle. The median is a segment drawn from each vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side. We learned that the point of intersection is the centroid. It is also know as the center of gravity.
HW Worksheet-Draw the altitudes and medians for each question.
EC On cardboard or a manila folder, draw a triangle, and draw the three medians. Cut out your triangle. See if your centroid point is the center of gravity by balancing a pen or pencil at this point. Bring it in to show the class and me!
